City removing commemorative trees to make way for flood barrier along Memorial Drive

Removing some of the trees along Memorial Drive is necessary to prepare for a berm being built along the north shore of the Bow River. The 2.4-kilometre barrier, which will stretch from 14th Street N.W. to the west side of the Field of Crosses, will protect the communities of Hillhurst and Sunnyside from a once-every-century flooding event.   Click here to read the story.   Click the following link for more information on Flood.
