Accessing OASIS:SSROM

The South Saskatchewan River Operating Model which runs on the OASIS platform from Hazen and Sawyer (OASIS:SSROM) is publicly available but access requires log-in credentials and the ability to use Microsoft’s Remote Desktop.

Please note the following:

  • Access to this model is no longer available as of 2024-07-31
  • This model has been through a collaborative process to ensure that it has the most accurate and up-to-date data representing the model base case as of when this version of the model was last updated (the system as it is today). To maintain trust in the model, it is recommended that a peer-review, collaborative process is completed before any analysis is published externally. This model is based on the best available knowledge at the time it was last updated (May 2022). No continual one-on-one support for model users or validation/verification of results will be provided. Results are to be used at your own risk.
  • The WaterPortal is not able to provide support on using the OASIS platform, the SSROM model or the Remote Desktop software.
  • The OASIS:SSROM model is provided on an as-is basis with no warranties as to accuracy or currency.  Queries related to the use and composition of the model should be directed to contact@watersmartsolutions.ca.
  • Queries on how to use OASIS should be directed to contact@watersmartsolutions.ca.
  • Queries on the use and installation of Remote Desktop clients should be directed to Microsoft.
  • Due to server space and licencing limitations, we may be required to periodically remove old model runs.   We will endeavour to inform users of such clean-up ahead of time but may not be able to do so.
  • Should the SSROM or OASIS become corrupted, we may need to reset the model to its starting conditions.   Your customisations or model variations may be lost as a result.

Requesting access credentials

Please send an email to info@waterportal.ca requesting access providing your name and organisation name.   On receipt of your email, we will provide you with log-in credentials and the necessary IP address to access the server.

Obtaining Remote Desktop Connection

Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) is freely available software available from Microsoft which will enable access to the server on which OASIS is running.   Information on the various Remote Desktop clients can be found here:  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/clients/remote-desktop-clients
